Neymar has his say on Lionel Messi’s Barcelona contract

Neymar has urged Barcelona to get Lionel Messi tied down to a new contract at the Camp Nou.

Neymar says his Argentinian team-mate is “from another planet” and wants him to extend his current deal which expires in June 2018.

Barca have recently extended the contracts of Neymar as well as fellow forward Luis Suarez and they are hopeful that a new deal for the 29-year-old Messi will be finalised this summer.

Reports yesterday suggested Messi will wait until the end of the season before signing a deal with the La Liga champions until 2022, earning around €30million a year after tax.

But Brazilian star Neymar wants Barcelona to wrap up the business as quickly as possible,

“He is an idol and a friend with whom I have the luck to train every day.

“I hope that he renews, and that the people at Barca get to work so Leo can continue with us.”
