Neymar’s father says neither his son nor Barcelona were interested in what Manchester United had to offer the Brazil forward this summer.
United were linked with numerous top strikers during the transfer window, with Thomas Muller, Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic all among the big names reported to have attracted the Red Devils’ interest.
Reports of United’s keenness to explore a deal for Neymar emerged late in the window, but the Barca forward’s father says they were never interested in what the Premier League club had to offer.
“The offer reached Barcelona and the club contacted us saying they were not going to sell,” Neymar Sr told Boa Tarde Fox.
“They asked if we were interested, but that wasn’t the case. Barcelona are not selling, he has three years still to go on his contract.
“It was Manchester’s deal, but that offer is not on the table now, it has fallen through.”
