Robert Lewandowski: Hot property

Robert Lewandowski’s representatives have denied that Real Madrid have enquired about the prolific Bayern Munich frontman.

A report over the weekend in Madrid paper Marca quoted Lewandowksi’s polish agent Cezary Kucharsky, claiming there was interest from the La Liga giants, but he has now denied that is the case.

Kucharsky told Polish paper Sportowe Fakty: “Since Robert signed the contract at Bayern [in January 2014] we have not talked about a transfer with representatives of Real Madrid.”

Kucharsky had previously gone on record saying his 27-year-old client, who has scored 25 goals in 22 games for club and country this season, was on the radar of Real Madrid: “You cannot deny that there is interest from Real Madrid.”

Lewandowski’s German agent Maik Barthel has also echoed Kucharsky’s latest statement on Twitter.

“Breaking News. From the day of the signature at Bayern until today, there has been no contact with Real Madrid,” he wrote.

Lewandowski, who was linked with a move to Liverpool last month, recently admitted that he is learning Spanish but claimed a move to Real was not under consideration: “There has been no contact over the past few months.”
