West Ham have not made a move to sign Yaya Toure, while there have been no contract talks with Man City, according to the player’s agent.
Yaya has just six weeks remaining on his deal at The Etihad and Dimitri Seluk has denied reports that his client is set to sign a new deal with Pep Guardiola’s men.
The Daily Mirror claimed City want the 34-year-old to sign up for one more year, but Seluk has quashed those claims and says he has not heard from the club for two months.
He also told Sky Sports there was plenty of interest in the player, but while refusing to name interested parties, they report he told them he had “heard nothing from West Ham”.
“We have not heard anything,” Seluk said. “I read a lot of stories about a new City contract but I know nothing about this. The last time I spoke to anyone at City was in Monaco in March.
“We have many possibilities. Yaya already has offers from different clubs. They are very interesting offers.
“There are clubs who have already qualified for next season’s Champions League, but for Yaya, Manchester City is a very special club. He has given his heart to the club and he would find it difficult to leave City.”
The midfielder did not kick a ball for City until November and after he was left out of their Champions League squad his time looked up. But he has gone on to make 29 appearances, scoring six times and he has been a key member of the City midfield once again.
“At the moment Yaya is just concentrating on getting City into the Champions League. That is his only focus. At the end of his contract, we will look at the offers he has,” added Seluk.
“He wants to play in the Champions League next season but he would also play for an ambitious club who have big plans – a club who have a project.”
