Norwich City striker Gary Hooper has joined Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the middle of January.
Hooper has not played for Norwich since coming on as a late substitute in the 3-0 loss to Southampton at the end of August, and his only other appearance came off the bench in the opening-day loss to Crystal Palace.
The forward has been out with an ankle injury but could make his Owls debut in the Capital One Cup tie with Arsenal on Tuesday night.
Hooper almost moved to Hillsborough earlier this season, but the move reportedly fell through after the club failed to include a VIP box for the striker’s friends and family.
Having joined the Canaries from Celtic for a fee of around £5million in 2013, and has gone on to score 20 goals in 70 appearances for the East Anglian club.
The signing will be seen as somewhat of a coup by Wednesday fans, with the 27-year-old having impressed in the Champions League during his Celtic days – when he was even linked with a call up to the England squad.
Norwich fans, are you glad to see the back of Hooper? Owls fans, can Hooper fire you into the play-offs? Have your say on our new forums.
