Notts County v Barnsley preview

Jamal Campbell-Ryce seems unlikely to feature for Notts County against former club Barnsley.

The winger is nursing a knee injury sustained against Yeovil at the weekend and the club are awaiting the results of a scan.

Ricardo Moniz’s first game as Magpies manager ended in a 1-1 draw at Huish Park, where he made two changes as Jordan Williams and Jimmy Spencer started at the expense of Mike Edwards and Nicky Wroe.

On-loan Liverpool midfielder Williams was moved to centre-back to replace Haydn Hollis at half-time and the teenager might get the nod to start in that position on Tuesday night after impressing the Dutchman.

Lee Johnson will assess his Barnsley squad after a couple of unnamed players missed training on Monday.

Johnson admitted some of his players had picked up niggles during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Chesterfield and they will be checked before the trip down the M1.

Jean Yves Mvoto (groin) remains doubtful so Peter Ramage looks set to keep his place in defence.

Conor Hourihane is battling to keep his place in the side after a below-par display on Saturday saw him taken off before the hour-mark.
