Odds tumble on Arsene Wenger to make Arsenal exit
Arsene Wenger is odds-on at 4/6 to no longer be Arsenal manager come the first day of next season and is in to 10/1 fourth favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his job.
The Gunners boss has once again seen his long reign at the club come under the spotlight after the club’s disappointing performance in their 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth – something our Monday Verdict was quick to dismantle.
The likes of Carlo Ancelotti and former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta have both been linked with the post and, discussing Wenger’s future, William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly said: “After the Forest defeat last week, Arsenal fans will have been expecting a reaction but instead they were tepid and looked lacking in motivation.
“Despite the fact that he has a year and a half left on his contract, Wenger appears to be walking a tightrope.”
Arsene Wenger to be Arsenal manager on the first day of the 2018/19 season: 4/6 no; 11/10 yes
Next Premier League manager to leave: 1/1 Mauricio Pellegrino; 4/1 Marco Silva; 6/1 Rafa Benitez; 10/1 Arsene Wenger; 12/1 BAR
