Jores Okore’s agent has accused Randy Lerner of giving up on Aston Villa after revealing he has been unable to contact the American owner.
Nikola Jægerfeld Juric says he has been trying, unsuccessfully, to get in touch with Lerner for two weeks to ascertain Villa’s plans for Okore, who was an unused sub in the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
“I’ve never tried anything like it,” Juric said. “It seems as though the owner has thrown the towel.
“It is simply so irresponsible that you cannot get hold of anyone who has responsibility.
“I have tried for 14 days to create a dialogue. Right now, we know not who manages the club and what they want with Jores in the longer term.”
Despite the current situation, Juric says Okore does not regret joining Villa from Nordsjaelland three years ago.
He added: “No, we do not regret the choice of Aston Villa, for at that time it was under control.
“Manager Paul Lambert promised playing time, and it was the most important thing at the time. Jores also had an amazing time during Tim Sherwood last season.”
