Only one club Hazard would play for in France and it’s not PSG

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has ruled out a future transfer to Paris Saint-Germain after insisting he would only ever sign for Lille in Ligue 1.

The Belgium schemer moved from Lille to Chelsea in 2012 and has developed into one of the world’s most talented attacking players. That has lead to admiring glances from elsewhere with PSG and Real Madrid continually linked with the 26-year-old.

But Hazard says he would not entertain a transfer to the French capital.

Speaking to SFR Sport, he said: “If one day I return to France, it will only be to [rejoin] Lille.”

Asked about Antonio Conte’s impact at Chelsea, Hazard said the training at Cobham is intense, but believed he has improved under the Italian’s tutelage.

“Even after a week I think I had progressed with him,” said Hazard.

“But I think he’s shown not just at Chelsea but also at Juve that he’s a good coach and I think he has some good years ahead of him.”

“We work a lot,” added Hazard. “It’s not always easy in training, there are a lot of hours of training, but it bears fruit on the pitch. We play well, we won last year. You can see that that’s the key to success: work.

“There’s a lot of tactics. It’s not always nice as a forward as you have to run, defend and everything, but at least at the weekend, you know exactly what to do, you can even close your eyes and play. That’s good.”
