Reece Oxford: Manchester City keen on West Ham youngster

West Ham youngster Reece Oxford has joined German club Borussia Monchengladbach on a season long loan deal. 

The 18 year old will officially move on July 1, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Reading as they reached the play-off final.

Oxford made his senior West Ham debut as a 16 year old in the Europa League, and then impressed in his Premier League debut as the Hammers overcome Arsenal at the beginning of the 2015/16 season.

Manager Slaven Bilic told the club’s official website: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Reece to continue his development and experience top level European football on a regular basis.

We believe Reece has a very exciting and successful future here at West Ham, and he now needs regular first team football to ensure his progress continues.”

‘Gladbach finished 9th in the Bundesliga last season and manager Dieter Hecking will be hoping that the England youth player can make a valuable contribution during the upcoming campaign.
