Mesut Ozil has lifted the lid on his improved form for Arsenal this year and the changes he’s made to his life to help him raise his game.
Ozil has been arguably the Premier League’s best player of the 2015/16 season, and his 15 assists make him easily the stand-out goals creator in Europe this campaign. He also found his way into our top 10 ranked players of 2015, though the list is dominated by stars of La Liga.
After an indifferent first two season at Arsenal, Ozil has been different class for the Gunners this year and, explaining his vastly-improved form for the Gunners, the German star told Kicker: “The biggest change started when I was injured last year and I changed my diet and started to look at the small details in my life.
“For example I started to have physiotherapy on my days off and made sure I had a good sleep. That is crucial over here [in England]. It is the fastest league in the world and we often play twice a week with no winter break.
“I also missed football a lot when I was injured and I don’t want that to happen again. That’s why I am doing everything I can to avoid it now.”
