Mesut Ozil has revealed he joined Arsenal to play ‘attractive football’ and admits he is “really pleased” to be coached by Arsene Wenger.
The 26-year-old joined Arsenal in a club record £42.5million switch from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 from Real Madrid.
And the German, who was also being eyed by Paris Saint-Germain, has now revealed just why he elected to link up with Wenger’s side after spending three years in Spain.
“Before I joined, I knew that Arsenal were always a technically-strong team,” Ozil told talkSPORT.
“That’s also why I decided to join this club, because I know exactly what the manager wants from the team.
“Our game centres around playing good, technical football and that’s good. It’s thanks to the manager because he’s worked on that for years and has formulated a technically-gifted team that can dominate any opposition.
“That’s why we’re really pleased to have a manager like him.”
