Arsenal will make Watford striker Odion Ighalo their top target this summer, while Antonio Conte has lined up two deals at Chelsea, with two arrivals expected from Roma, according to Tuesday’s newspapers.
ARSENAL PLOT £20M MOVE FOR IGHALO
Arsene Wenger is stepping up his interest in £20million-rated Watford forward Odion Ighalo.
They have identified 26-year-old Ighalo as one of the strikers at the top of their shortlist for summer strikers.
Gunners boss Wenger wants to strengthen his strike force and it will not necessarily mean an established superstar signing.
Wenger believes they have strength in depth with Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck who can all play through the middle.
But he does want a centre forward and the club are keeping close tabs on Ighalo who is becoming a hot property.
Watford may have to sell if they get an offer of around £20m and Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have all looked at the Nigerian forward.
CONTE TO MAKE NAINGGOLAN HIS FIRST CHELSEA SIGNING
Antonio Conte reckons he’s landed the Chelsea job and he wants to make Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan his first signing, reports the Daily Star.
Nainggolan has been linked with a switch to Manchester United in the past and it’s thought that while they retain an interest, Chelsea would be a more likely destination for the powerful Belgian star.
Conte looks increasingly likely to be appointed by Chelsea, with reports on Monday suggesting a deal has been agreed subject to Roman Abramovich’s final approval.
Conte, meanwhile, has told the Blues he would like to bring Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini with him when he moves to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Express.
