Christian Eriksen: Tipped to join Barcelona this summer

Barcelona are reportedly looking to lure a Tottenham star to Spain, while Jose Mourinho is weighing up a move for a PSG central defender, according to Sunday’s papers.

BARCA TARGET MOVE FOR SPURS PLAYMAKER

Barcelona want to reportedly take Christian Eriksen from Tottenham as part of their summer revamp.

Eriksen has been outstanding for Spurs, particularly in the second half of the season, and has played a major part in their efforts to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title.

The Dane has scored 11 goals but has the highest number of assists in Europe’s top leagues this season and Barca are keen to sign the 25-year-old to provide the ammunition for their outstanding attacking talent.

The Sunday Mirror claims that Barca will use their former player Michael Laudrup, a legend of Danish football, to try and convince Eriksen to swap the Premier League for La Liga next season.

Eriksen, however, only signed a new deal at Tottenham last September and is said to be very happy at a club that is clearly going places under the leadership of one of the best young managers in the game in Mauricio Pochettino.

MAN UNITED WEIGH UP MOVE FOR PSG STAR

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly considering a move for Paris St-Germain defender Marquinhos this summer.

The 22-year-old is rated as one of the game’s best young central defenders but it would take a bid of around £58million to land the Brazil international, according to a report in the Manchester Evening News.

Marquinhos, who joined PSG from Roma in 2013, has just two years left on his current contract although he has revealed that talks are underway over a renewal.

The defender was roundly criticised for his performance as PSG let in six goals in their humiliating Champions League exit to Barcelona last month, but that has not stopped Mourinho declaring his interest in the player.
