Wayne Rooney could leave Manchester United sooner than expected, Sunderland could splash the cash, while three Premier League sides are chasing Angers star Nicolas Pepe, according to today’s papers.
ROONEY EXIT IMMINENT?
Wayne Rooney could leave Manchester United before the end of the season, amid continued interest from clubs in China.
According to The Sun, Rooney has decided to “cut his ties” with the Red Devils after finally breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s record to become the club’s record goalscorer.
The England captain is no longer an automatic choice at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho and has been linked with a move in the summer.
However, the report suggests that the 31-year-old is frustrated with life on the bench and could even leave next month.
China’s transfer window does not close until February 28, meaning there is still plenty of time for a mega-money deal to be agreed.
