Diego Costa has added fuel to speculation he will leave the club this summer, while Manchester United are ready to make a bid for a Benfica midfielder, according to Saturday’s papers.
CHELSEA HITMAN’S FUTURE QUESTIONED AGAIN
Diego Costa has fuelled speculation over a move away from Chelsea after he was spotted meeting with super agent Jorge Mendes and a group of businessmen at a Knightsbridge restaurant.
The Blues frontman, 28, almost returned to Atletico Madrid last summer, while there were also strong rumours that he could have moved to the Chinese Super League in January.
The report in The Sun claims that Costa has never settled in London and open discussions like this have certainly added fuel to the fire that he may well quit the club.
A fellow diner told SunSport: “I would say there were about 10 people at the table, four Asian men on one side and then Jorge Mendes on the other with his people and then Diego at the end.
“They were all drinking large magnum bottles of red wine, including Diego, and were eating lobster pasta.
“There were lots of toasts being made and then they had pictures with Diego.
“We left the restaurant around 10pm and they were still there enjoying their dinner.”
UNITED READY TO BID FOR BENFICA STAR
Manchester United are reportedly ready to table a £17m bid for Benfica midfielder Anderson Talisca, who is currently on loan with Turkish outfit Besiktas.
According to Portuguese daily O Jogo, the 23-year-old is unlikely to return to his parent club at the end of the season, and Benfica are willing to listen to offers for the player.
Talisca, who is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, has scored 14 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this season and would add a new dynamic to a United midfield that Jose Mourinho is looking to revamp this summer.
