Chelsea could rival Manchester United for the signing of Southampton forward Sadio Mane, while Michy Batshuayi looks set to stay at Marseille.
CHELSEA TO RIVAL MAN UTD FOR MANE
Chelsea have joined Manchester United as admirers of Southampton forward Sadio Mane, according to the Daily Mirror.
United enquired about the availability of Mane in the summer and are sure to retain an interest in the 23-year-old, with Louis van Gaal saying earlier this month that the team still lacked “speed and creativity” on the wings.
However, they may face competition if they decide to make another approach for Mane, with Chelsea also looking to beef up their attacking options having scored only 17 goals in 13 Premier League games this season.
It was reported on Sunday that Jose Mourinho wants to add two new forwards to his squad in January, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Edinson Cavani among the players linked, and Mane can now be added to their list of potential targets.
Southampton are said to be keen to tie the Senegal international down to an improved contract at St Mary’s to ward off interest from rival clubs, but there has so far been no progress on that front.
PREM CLUBS TO MISS OUT ON BATSHUAYI
Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Atletico Madrid and Valencia are among the clubs interested in Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to French publication Le10Sport.
However, the Belgium striker has committed his future to OM, telling Telefoot: “Of course my future is here.
“There is a lot of love, a magnificent stadium, magnificent supporters.
“I do not think it can be better elsewhere. Sorry, you’re still going to see me for some time.”
