Chelsea have been linked with Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou, PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi and Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
CHELSEA TARGET ANOTHER NEW DEFENDER
Chelsea will try to sign Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou in the January transfer window, according to L’Equipe.
The Blues have conceded 12 goals in their opening six Premier League games – only Sunderland have let in more – and, despite signing Papy Djilobodji and Michael Hector on transfer deadline day, Jose Mourinho is said to remain keen to strengthen the centre of his defence after missing out on Everton’s John Stones.
N’Koulou, 25, is only under contract at Marseille until the end of next season, and the French club would apparently prefer to do business with Chelsea than one of their Ligue 1 rivals, although they are said to want around £7.2million for the Cameroon international.
CHELSEA LINKED WITH TWO MORE
Chelsea have tenuously been linked with two more players in Europe.
Italian gossip website Tuttomercatoweb claims the Blues have identified Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi as a replacement for John Obi Mikel, who he is preparing to axe, but the 28-year-old is a key player for Laurent Blanc’s side and is under contract until 2018.
Spanish gossip website Fichajes, meanwhile, suggests Mourinho is keeping his eye on Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the January transfer window.
Lacazette scored 27 goals in 33 games in Ligue 1 last season and got off the mark for the new season with a penalty at the weekend.
