Paper Talk: Chelsea turn to Giroud; West Ham eye Liverpool loan star

Chelsea are considering making a move for an out of favor Arsenal striker, while West Ham are hoping to seal a late loan move for a Liverpool attacker, according to Friday’s papers.

CHELSEA EYE SWOOP FOR ARSENAL ATTACKER

Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to bring Olivier Giroud to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal.

The Gunners frontman had been expected to make a loan switch to Borussia Dortmund but that move appears to be dead after the German outfit were unable to agree a fee with Arsenal for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to move in the opposite direction.

Chelsea, themselves are still in talks with Roma to try and sign former Manchester City hitman Erin Dzeko but are said to be lining-up Giroud if a move for the Bosnian falls through, according to the report in the Daily Mirror.

The Blues are clearly chasing a certain type of central striker, having also tried to sign Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes and Giroud also fits that mould.

The Frenchman has 18 months remaining on his existing Arsenal deal but it would appear that his future eyes elsewhere and that it is a matter of when and not if he ends his stay at The Emirates.
