Paper Talk: Spurs to offload flop; Chelsea chase Brazilian striker

Chelsea are trying to muscle in on a Brazilian striker, while two English clubs are still in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe, according to the Sunday papers.

LIVERPOOL, CITY STILL IN MBAPPE RACE

Liverpool and Man City are among four clubs left in race to sign Monaco star Kylian Mbappe, according to a report in France

The Premier League pair are vying with Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid to sign the 18-year-old France striker, who blasted 26 goals for the Ligue 1 champions last season.

Le 10 Sport reports Arsenal are out of the race to sign Mbappe and Barcelona will only step up their interest if they lose Neymar to PSG.

The Sun reports Real Madrid will wrap up a £120million world-record move for the player in the next two week – a report which seems like an educated guess.

Mbappe did cast doubt on his future earlier this month when he refused to confirm he would stay with Monaco.

He told Marca: “I don’t know if I will stay.”

Earlier this week Monaco are threatened  to report “important” European clubs to FIFA for making illegal approaches to Mbappe.

CHELSEA TO HIJACK STRIKER

Chelsea are interested in Fluminense striker Richarlison, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The Brazil U20 international was a target for  AC Milan and Manchester United, according to Calciomercato, but now Chelsea are set to swoop for the player.

Richarlison was understood to be heading to Ajax for £12million after verbally agreeing a five-year deal, but Chelsea are trying to muscle in on the 20-year-old.

The Brazilian only arrived at Fluminense last summer for £2million, signing a four-year deal, but he has been impressing in Brazilian and several European scouts have noted his progress.

Speaking to FCInterNews.it last week, his agent Renato Velasco said: “Yes, there is interest from a few clubs in your country.

“Inter and Sampdoria, yes, but not the Rossoneri, at least not right now. The truth is that he is ready to play for any club, big or small and there is a lot of speculation around him.

“He is talking about Italy, but also England and Holland.”
