Manchester City have seen a sensational approach for one of Chelsea’s star men rejected, while Arsenal will be forced to let Olivier Giroud join the Blues for half their asking price, according to Tuesday’s papers.
CHELSEA TO REJECT ALL OFFERS FOR HAZARD FROM MAN CITY
Chelsea have told Manchester City they are wasting their time bidding for Eden Hazard – even if the Premier League leaders offer to break the world-record fee of £200m.
That’s according to the Daily Telegraph, who claim Pep Guardiola has turned his attentions to the Belgian after missing out on a deal to bring Alexis Sanchez to the club earlier this month.
According to the paper, City are hoping to tempt the Blues to sell their prized asset amid ongoing doubts over his future.
The Belgian is contracted to the Blues until 2020 and despite being paid £200,000 a week, the club are looking to reward the player for his fine form with a new deal worth an estimated £300,000 a week.
However, after rejecting the chance to extend his contract thus far, Hazard has been strongly linked with Real Madrid, while City now hoping to cash in on his uncertainty by offering Chelsea a world-record fee to bring him to the North-West.
However, the Telegraph claims both Chelsea and Antonio Conte have simply refused to enter negotiations with their Premier League rivals for any of their top stars – and certainly not for Hazard.
