Everton and Liverpool have both been linked with new goalkeepers, while Chelsea’s managerial search has apparently stepped up a notch.
EVERTON LINE UP £8M BEGOVIC BID
Everton are lining up an £8million move for Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in the summer, according to The Sun, with Tim Howard expected to return to MLS with Colorado Rapids.
Though Begovic knew he would be No.2 when he joined Chelsea from Stoke City, the Bosnian is said to be frustrated with his situation at Stamford Bridge having been immediately dropped to the bench following the return to fitness of Thibaut Courtois in December.
Begovic’s only action since Guus Hiddink took charge was in the FA Cup tie against Scunthorpe, but Roberto Martinez apparently wants to offer him the chance of regular first-team football at Goodison Park.
AS LIVERPOOL EYE BETIS KEEPER
Liverpool are also looking to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, according to the Daily Mirror, with Jurgen Klopp keen on Real Betis’ Antonio Adan.
The 28-year-old is a Real Madrid youth graduate and was famously played ahead of Iker Casillas towards the end of Jose Mourinho’s reign at the Bernabeu, but it is only since moving to Betis, via a brief spell with Serie A side Cagliari, that Adan has established himself as a first choice.
The former Spain Under-21 international has a £6.2million release clause in his contract, with Klopp considering a move.
