Arsene Wenger has set his sights on a raid on Barcelona, while Man Utd officials were in talks with Romelu Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola, all in Friday’s papers.
WENGER PLANNING RAFINHA RAID
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Barcelona star Rafinha, according to reports in Spain.
Ever-reliable Spanish outlet Don Balon claims Wenger is keen on the 24-year-old central midfielder, who is not a first-team regular at the Cam Nou.
The Daily Star claim Rafinha “might fancy a move”, but Real Madrid, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also believed to be in the reckoning.
Rafinha has made 26 appearances this season in all competitions, scoring seven times and making five assists. But the Brazilian, who is contracted until June 2020, has only made 12 starts in La Liga.
WOODWARD MEETS RAIOLA AT LOWRY
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward met agent Mino Raiola yesterday for “transfer talks”, according to the Daily Star.
The reports suggests that Woodward was discussing a possible move for unsettled Everton striker Lukaku, who looks set to leave Goodison this summer.
“The pair spoke for around three hours before Woodward left the hotel shortly after 2pm,” reads the report.
Raiola also represents a hos to other top players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba.
And there seems little substance to the theory that Lukaku was the subject of the Manchester meeting.
Ibrahimovic”s future is also up in the air with the 35-year-old out of contract at the end of the season and “demanding a two-year deal” from United.
It’s believed the club are only offering the Swede a 12-month deal.
