Jose Mourinho hopes to pull off a sensational move that would see Man City striker Segio Aguero cross the Manchester divide and join United.

Man Utd are on the look-out for a new senior striker following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s potentially career-ending injury, and Aguero features prominently on their list of targets, report the Sun on Sunday.

The report claims that Aguero has been deemed surplus to requirements at City by boss Pep Guardiola, with Brazilian Gabriel Jesus the man the Spaniard wants to spearhead his Etihad revolution.

A fee of £55million has been suggested for the 28-year-old Argentine, who has plundered a remarkable 120 goals in 178 games for City.

Should Aguero be allowed to leave, though, there will be no shortage of takers, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich all being credited with an interest in the past.

North London rivals Spurs and Arsenal will go head-to-head in the hope of signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer, say the Sun on Sunday.

Zaha has recovered from a disastrous spell at Manchester United to return to prominence at Palace, his first club, and has played a key role as Sam Allardyce guided the Eagles to safety.

Allardyce is reluctant to let the Ivory Coast international leave, and has claimed any deal to sign him will not come cheap, but may choose to cash-in to help fund his own plans to freshen up his squad.

Spurs have tried to sign him before, but the report claims Arsenal may hold the edge if they are willing to include Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson in any deal.
