Manchester United will try and lure Hugo Lloris to Old Trafford this summer, while they have also got their sights one of Arsenal’s star men, all in the Sunday papers.
LLORIS ‘TUG OF WAR’
An exclusive on Sunday suggests Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris is at the centre of a “summer tug of war” between Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Sunday Express claims both clubs are interested in the 30-year-old with United reportedly targeting the Spurs stopper as their No. 1 target if David de Gea moves to Real Madrid.
PSG are “long-time admirers” of the former Lyon man and they, along with United are prepared to up his £100,000 a week wage at White Hart Lane.
Lloris signed a new contract until 2022 in December, but that will only act to secure Spurs a large transfer fee if United or PSG come calling with a lucrative offer.
As for any more detail in the story that’s about as far as it goes, but if Jose Mourinho was to lose De Gea then it would seem logical that a move for Lloris would be his next step.
UNITED LINE UP OZIL BID
Jose Mourinho wants to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil this summer, according to a report.
The Sunday Mirror claims Mourinho wants to be reunited with Ozil, whom he managed at Real Madrid.
Ozil will be in the final year of his contract in the summer and he has claimed Arsene Wenger’s future decision will influence his future plans.
United though will try and capitalise on his future uncertainty by trying to lure the Germany playmaker to Old Trafford.
Any prospective move would cause chaos with the already split Arsenal fans and Wenger said recently that the club would no longer sell their best players to their Premier League rivals.
The 28-year-old cost Arsenal £42.5million from Real Madrid in September 2013.
