Liverpool have made a move for Barcelona keeper Ter Stegen, Manchester United are tracking the “new Cristiano Ronaldo” and Arsenal are lining up a Turkey international, all in the papers.
LIVERPOOL MAKE STEGEN MOVE
Liverpool have targeted Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen, according to French radio station RMC.
Despite Jurgen Klopp claiming he was happy with Simon Mignolet, speculation has continued over potential goalkeeper targets and Barca age Stegen is the latest name to crop up.
The Merseyside club have reportedly been in touch with Ter Stegen’s representatives over a move to Anfield. Stegen has only made only 12 appearances this season and is believed to be unhappy about his lack of playing time.
It’s unclear whether the 23-year-old German is looking for a move away from the Nou Camp, but Klopp is believed to be keen.
UNITED CHASING ‘NEW CRISTIANO RONALDO’
Louis van Gaal has hinted that he could be in the market for a striker this month and that admission has seen the tabloids light the blue-touch paper regarding transfer speculation.
The Express claim van Gaal is “desperate” to add to his attacking ranks – not quite what he said, but they report 19-year-old Benfica winger Goncalo Guedes is the man he wants in January.
The ‘new Ronaldo’, is how Guedes, who became the youngest Portuguese goalscorer in the group stage of the Champions League in September, is being described.
The Portugal starlet has scored four goals in 19 appearances this term. Is he the man who can transform United’s goalscoring problems? Unlikely.
REAL TO WIELD AXE ON 10
Catalan publication Sport claim that Real Madrid could sell 10 players in the summer to fund a £200m spending spree.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, Jese, Isco, Alvaro Arbeloa, Keylor Navas and Denis Cheryshev are all potential departures from the Bernabeu, according to the pro-Barca publication.
Sergio Ramos, who almost joined Manchester United in the summer, will also be allowed to leave if somebody matches his £29million buy-out clause.
Florentino Perez wants to revamp the squad and has targeted David De Gea, Robert Lewandowski and Eden Hazard.
Isco is believed to be trying to engineer a move away from Real after falling down the pecking order. Man City are believed to be his destination of choice. (Mirror),
ARSENAL TO BE REUNITED WITH OZYAKUP
Oguzhan Ozyakup is the latest player to be linked with Arsenal.
Turkish publication Fanatik claim the midfielder, who was with Arsenal as a youngster, is set to become the long-tern replacement for Santi Cazorla.
Arsene Wenger has had scouts watching the 23-year-old Turkey international and he could make a move for the player this month.
Wenger is also “preparing to rival Inter Milan and make a £15m bid for Paris St-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot”.
The 20-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer and Buzzsport say Wenger will reignite his interest in the 20-year-old midfielder…again.
