Paper Talk: Bayern star to replace Zlatan; Spurs want Leipzig ace

Date published: Thursday 6th April 2017 1:37

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a Bayern Munich star if the Swede leaves Old Trafford, while Daley Blind could be heading home, all in today’s papers.

Jose Mourinho will go for Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowksi if Zlatan Ibrahimovic leaves, according to one report.

Spanish outlet Don Balon report that Mourinho will try and sign the Poland forward if Ibrahimovic decides to take on another challenge elsewhere.

The Daily Express have picked up the story, but there seems to be very little substance to the piece and Don Balon have hardly been the most reliable of sources over the last couple of years.

Robert Lewandowski: Does he want out?

Apparently Lewandowski, 28, is  Mourinho’s “No 1 target” should the 35-year-old Ibrahimovic leave the club.

“But Mourinho will need to secure Champions League football to acquire Lewandowski,” according to the Star and that looks a big ask at the moment.

We think this rumour can be filed under ‘B’ for bin.

Daley Blind: Heading for the exit door

Manchester United utility man Daley Blind could be heading back to Holland this summer, according to a report.

Ajax “are considering a summer move” for the Dutch international, according to an exclusive in The Sun.

The 27-year-old has struggled to get game time under Jose Mourinho and Ajax will try and lure Blind back to his homeland.

Blind, who was a £15million recruit from Ajax in the summer of 2014, has made just 18 Premier League appearances this season and may well look to return with just a year remaining on his Old Trafford contract.

“So far no talks over extending that deal have taken place,” claims the report and Ajax will step up their interest if Mourinho decides to allow the player to move on.
