Paper Talk: United face new £40m Fred fight; Wolves rival Arsenal for ace

Manchester United face a fresh challenger for the signature of a £40million Brazil star, while Luke Shaw’s United career appears to over, according to Monday’s newspapers.

PSG EMERGE AS RIVALS FOR £40M MAN UTD TARGET

Manchester United have reportedly reclaimed pole position in the £40m battle for Brazil midfielder Fred.

However, the main threat to United clinching the signing of the Shakhtar Donetsk star this summer is now coming from PSG and not Manchester City.

Reports last week claimed that Pep Guardiola had ended his interest in the 25-year-old, making United the clear favouritesto land the player.

The Daily Star, however, claims City are still monitoring the midfielder’s situation but that Fred is no longer a priority signing for the runaway Premier League leaders.

The report goes on to state that Fred’s representatives have privately confirmed that the strongest interest is coming from Old Trafford, although with PSG also now in mixer the transfer may not be as straight forward as United would have hoped.
