Paper Talk: Saints looking to ‘pinch’ Walcott; Koeman going it alone

A Premier League club are hoping to sign Theo Walcott for £12million in January and Liverpool have scouted a young Germany midfielder, all in today’s papers.

SAINTS WANT WALCOTT BACK

Arsenal will sell Theo Walcott in January and his former club Southampton are hoping to bring him home, according to a report.

Both Walcott and Mesut Ozil, both 28, will be sold in January and Saints have targeted Walcott as the man to get them back among the goals, according to the Daily Express.

Walcott is yet to start a Premier League game this season and has been omitted from the England squad and reports suggest the player is open to a move away from The Emirates.

The former Saints youngster has 18 months left on his current £110,000-a-week Arsenal contract and there are no plans to extend that.

Walcott, who cost £5million in 2006, has scored 107 goals for the Gunners in 388 appearances and the Saints “would look to pay about £12-15million for the player who came through their youth system”.

Inter Milan are also interested in the player, while Everton and West Ham are also tracking his situation in north London.
