Barcelona have triggered an almighty scramble for Juventus star Paul Pogba after pulling out of a deal to sign him and Sofiane Boufal is high up the target list of several Premier League clubs.
POGBA SCRAMBLE ON AFTER BARCA PULL OUT
Barcelona are believed to have pulled out of a summer move for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, according to the Daily Mirror.
Barca were widely expected to seal a move for the 22-year-old powerhouse in the summer transfer window but “due to their self-imposed financial restrictions” a prospective £85million deal has been put on a backburner laving the way clear for new Man City boss Pep Guardiola to make his move.
The Catalan club are instead set to spend the summer trying to secure the futures of Neymar and Lionel Messi, while a new youthful centre-back has apparently risen to the top of their shopping list.
It will spark an almighty scramble for France midfielder Pogba, who has been one of the key men for Serie A table toppers Juve this season. Real Madrid are expected to register their interest in Pogba, who is likely to command a weekly wage in excess of £250,000.
Spanish daily Sport claimed yesterday that Pogba had “offered himself” to Barcelona but his agent Mino Raiola claimed the journalist in question was talking nonsense and likened him to Pinocchio after making up the story.
BOUFAL ON CHELSEA’S RADAR…AND ARSENAL’S, UNITED’S AND CITY’S
Chelsea have targeted Lille midfielder Sofiane Boufal in the summer transfer window, say talkSport.
Boufal has scored nine goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille and has attracted the attention of several scouts from across Europe.
The 22-year-old Paris-born attacking midfielder is also being monitored by Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Stoke and Southampton.
