Arsenal have been linked with three strikers after the injury to Danny Welbeck and Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Real Madrid if they lose the Champions League final.
WELBECK INJURY SEES ARSENAL CHASE TRIO
The long-term injury to Danny Welbeck has sent the papers into overdrive and two familiar names have risen to the top of their wanted list, so we’re lead to believe.
The Star claims Arsenal could go back in for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, 22, with Welbeck ruled out for nine months.
The Daily Mirror don’t see it that way and they claim the Gunners will step up their interest in Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, 23.
They also claim (have ripped off) reports that Arsene Wenger is eyeing a move for “little-known French striker” Sehrou Guirassy. The 20-year-old Lille frontman has reportedly impressed on loan at second division club Auxerre.
That was a link which surfaced on Wednesday with ESPN reporting that Wenger had chief scout Steve Rowley fly out to France on Friday last week to watch Guirassy in action against Le Havre.
MAKE-OR-BREAK CL FINAL FOR RONALDO
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will only stay at the Bernabeu if they beat neighbours Atletico on the Champions League final, according to reports in Spain.
Ronaldo, 31, has agreed “a monster new deal in Madrid” but the Milan showdown on May 28 will prove make or break, according to Don Balon.
“If they lose he will leave the Bernabeu with Manchester United being his dream destination”, report the Daily Star.
Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes are believed to have agreed terms with Madrid on a new £15.8m-a-year contract until 2020, but all will depend on what happens at the end of the month against Atletico, a side they defeated in the final in 2014.
Just why the winning the Champions League has become the deciding factor is a mystery, because the Portuguese star already has a winners medal from two years ago. And as far as ‘reports’ go this one looks like another shocker from the ever-reliable Spanish outlet.
Paris St-Germain are still extremely interested in Ronaldo, but the 31-year-old does not fancy Ligue 1. However, if United put the required money up this summer, Ronaldo, who has claimed previously he wasnt to see out the final two tears of his contract, will have a decision to make.
