Chelsea have been linked with Romelu Lukaku, Arturo Vidal, plus four players from Serie A, while Alexis Sanchez will snub a move to Real Madrid for now, according to Tuesday morning’s papers.
CONTE TARGETS LUKAKU AND WANTS SERIE A QUARTET
The papers have gone big on possible targets for new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, with several star names linked with moves to the club on Tuesday morning.
First up is the Daily Star, who claim in an exclusive that Conte has told the Blues to re-sign Romelu Lukaku – and wants a deal done before Euro 2016.
The paper claims Conte wants to make Lukaku the focal point of his attack, with Chelsea prepared to offer £50million for the Belgian they sold to Everton for £28million in the summer of 2014.
Conte hopes to bring in Lukaku with the Guardian claiming Diego Costa has already made up his mind on a return to La Liga this summer.
The Star also claims the Blues are confident of signing Roma pair Radja Naingollan and Kostas Manolas – but look set to abandon a move for Leonardo Bonucci.
The Juventus defender, 28, is under contract until 2020 and the Italians are refusing to do business, making a deal difficult.
Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal is also on Chelsea’s radar, and is understood to be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
Elsewhere, Miralem Pjanic has flown into London to discuss a possible move to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Express.
Pjanic, who is valued at £31million, has scored nine goals and 10 assists in his 28 Serie A appearances.
Meanwhile, the Gazetta dello Sport says Conte hopes to bring Napoli and Argentina forward Gonzalo Higuain, 28, to Stamford Bridge.
ALEXIS WILL SNUB REAL MADRID ADVANCES
Alexis Sanchez is ready to snub a Real Madrid move – for now – but could be tempted to return to Spain next summer.
The Chilean has starred for Arsenal since a 2014 move from Barcelona but reports have linked him with a return to Spain.
The player has two years left on his contract and Arsene Wenger admitted at the weekend he was confident the duo would sign new deals at the Emirates.
But Tuttomercatoweb report he’ll stick with the Gunners until the end of next season, when the player will reassess his options.
Real have been hotly tipped to bid for Chelsea star Eden Hazard this summer. But recent reports claim senior Madrid figures have cooled on the idea – and Sanchez could be targeted instead.
Sanchez won the FA Cup in his first season at Arsenal, but is facing an uphill battle to claim any silverware this time around.
The Gunners are 11 points Premier League leaders Leicester, although they do have a game in hand.
