Paper Talk: Man Utd watch £129m target again; Spurs track duo
Tottenham are poised to sell one of their most influential and have already targeted two replacements, while Man Utd will check again on a big-money summer target, according to Tuesday’s papers.
SPURS READY TO SELL DEMBELE; TWO REPLACEMENTS IDENTIFIED
Tottenham are ready to sell off influential star Mousa Dembele this summer after the Belgian failed to agree terms over a new contract.
That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who claim Mauricio Pochettino has already identified Bryan Cristante and Andre Gomes as two potential replacements.
Dembele is widely regarded as one of Pochettino’s most important stars, but his failure to agree a new deal means the club are willing to listen to offers for him this summer.
Juventus, as well as Chinese Super League clubs, have been touted as potential suitors.
The former Fulham star, 30, has just over 12 months left on his current deal but he could be the first of three big-name exits this summer with Toby Alderweireld and Fernando Llorente also expected to move on.
And the report concludes that Atalanta midfielder Cristante and Barcelona’s Gomes – both linked with Manchester United in recent months – are being watched as potential replacements.
