Manchester City apparently want to sign Luis Suarez, Manchester United want Everton’s Ross Barkley, while Chelsea are eyeing Fraser Forster.

GUARDIOLA HOPES TO TEMPT SUAREZ

Pep Guardiola believes he can persuade Luis Suarez to leave Barcelona this summer to join him at Manchester City, claims the Sunday Express.

Suarez is represented by the Media Base Sports agency run by Guardiola’s younger brother Pere, apparently leading the soon-to-be City boss to believe a major coup can be pulled off.

Guardiola had wanted to sign Suarez for Bayern Munich two summers ago, but the Uruguay forward instead signed a five-year contract at the Nou Camp in what has recently revealed to have been a £65million transfer.

Barca are due to pay a final installment of around £13million for the 29-year-old at the end of July, but the Catalans want City to pay that for them as part of any deal, the Express says.

BARKLEY IS TOP TARGET FOR MAN UTD

Manchester United want to strengthen their midfield again this summer and have made Everton’s Ross Barkley their top target, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

United spent close to £40million on Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger last summer, but the former is apparently free to leave Old Trafford after just a year, while the latter has struggled for fitness and top form.

United boss Louis van Gaal has described Everton striker Romelu Lukaku as a “potential candidate” for all the top clubs courtesy of his fine goalscoring record this season, but it is apparently £45million-rated Barkley the Dutchman would most like to prise away from Goodison Park.
