Manchester United shortlist West Ham left-back, Chelsea to hijack Tottenham move for Southampton ace and Arsenal to bolster their attack.
MANCHESTER UNITED EYE WEST HAM’S CRESSWELL
Manchester United are actively looking for a new left-back following Luke Shaw’s double leg break against PSV last week, according to The Sun.
Louis van Gaal is thought to be mulling over a £15million move for former Ipswich defender Aaron Cresswell, who moved to Upton Park for a reported fee of £3.75million in June last year.
The 25-year-old’s performances last season saw him linked with Premier League champions Chelsea but, even after signing a new five-year deal with the Hammers, Manchester United look to be in pole position to land him in the next transfer window.
CHELSEA TO HIJACK WANYAMA SITUATION
Jose Mourinho is to respond to Chelsea’s poor start to the season by making a £20million swoop for Southampton’s wantaway midfielder Victor Wanyama.
The Star on Sunday report that while the likes of Juventus’ Paul Pogba, Porto’s Ruben Neves at Porto and Red Star Belgrade’s Marko Grujic are also on the radar, it is the 24-year-old Kenyan midfielder who is now the main target for the Blues.
The Saints are under pressure to sell their star midfielder, who is refusing to sign a new deal to stay at St Mary’s and saw a deadline day move to Tottenham fall through in the summer. As his value decreases, Ronald Koeman may be tempted to cash-in in January and add to his own transfer kitty.
ARSENAL EYE BELGIAN STRIKER
Danny Welbeck’s injury setback at the Emirates has seen Arsene Wenger step up his efforts to add to his forward line in January, reports the Star on Sunday.
Marseille’s Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi, 21, is attracting interest from all over Europe after moving to the Ligue 1 outfit from Standard Liege last August and recently opened his account for the new season with a brace against Troyes in a 6-0 win.
Marseille are thought to value Batshuayi in the region of £22million.
