Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has admitted he has opened talks about the sale of the midfielder to Real Madrid – and has hinted they are the club the Frenchman has set his heart on joining.
The future of the former Man Utd academy star has been a much-debated subject for the best part of 12 months, with the likes of Real, Barcelona, Chelsea, Man City and United all linked with a move for the player.
But with Manchester City ruling themselves out of the equation and with Juventus reportedly ready to sanction his sale, Real have emerged as favourites to land the powerful midfielder.
Now his agent has confirmed Real’s interest and told Marca that talks have already begun about taking the player to the Bernabeu: “Pogba admires Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane. That’s very important. We are in the first stage of negotiations.
“How much does he cost? He has no price. His price-tag is how much a club want to pay and how much a club can pay.”
France national team boss Didier Deschamps was also asked about the 23-year-old at the end of Les Bleus’ stalemate against Switzerland on Sunday night.
“There is too much pressure on him. People expect too much,” Deschamps said. “He’s not the same kind of player of Zidane and Platini. He’ll never be a number 10 like them. Whoever expects that is wrong.”
