Power Rankings: Liverpool and Chelsea joint-top

Chelsea joined Liverpool at the top of our Power Rankings, while Manchester City and Arsenal climbed a place in the top four after game 10 in the Premier League.

We cannot split Liverpool and Chelsea at the summit after the pair produced impressive away-day victories, while Man City and Arsenal also displayed their title credentials with powerful wins on the road.

It’s going to go to the wire this season, but Manchester United look unlikely to be a challenger after slumping to a goalless draw at home to Burnley.

In Power Rankings, we award points from 0.5 to 7, decided by an algorithm based on bookmaker odds and winning margins.

It rewards teams scoring lots of goals and also those defying expectations but sees odds-on favourites penalised for sneaking past inferior opponents by the odd goal.

West Ham, who are joint-17th this time around, claimed the title by 3.5 points in our inaugural Power Rankings last season.
