Predictions: Opinions split on West Ham-Spurs; wins for Liverpool, Chelsea
Justin Hawkins, the lead singer with the band The Darkness, is tipping wins for Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea – but there’s no agreement on either Liverpool or Manchester United’s games.
Just like last season, our writers will take on a different band or artist by making their Premier League predictions each week, while you can join in the fun using the story comment facility (below) or Your Say forum.
Last weekend, Ryan Malcolm from the band Superfood went up against us – and you can see who came out on top here.
This time around, it’s Justin Hawkins from The Darkness who pits his wits against TEAMtalk’s Marshy.

Justin Hawkins, his love of football, and life with The Darkness
TT: How did you come to support your club and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?
Justin: I loved the mythology of a club rising from the ashes of a plane crash… Plus my brother was fond of Liverpool and at the time, Man U were the underdogs.
TT: Who have been your biggest heroes during your time supporting the club?
Justin: Choccy McClair! I long for a Gordon Strachan and an Eric Cantona perhaps too. They don’t make ’em like that any more. But Rashers is going to be the greatest England player for many many moons…
TT: Everyone has a soft spot for another team. Who’s yours and why?
Justin: I like Norwich, Leicester and Barnet. I’ve been to more Norwich games than I can count, I have family in Leicester and Barnet are friends o’ The Darkness.
TT: What’s going on with the band at the moment?
Justin: The new Darkness album is coming out October 6. It’s full of triumphant sports anthems and we’ll be working hard to promote the new record.
