Newcastle have received only one enquiry for Moussa Sissoko – and it is claimed the interested club were potentially £20million short in their valuation of the midfielder.
Sissoko wants to leave St James’ Park “as early as possible” following United’s relegation from the Premier League and the 26-year-old has regularly flirted with Arsenal.
The France midfielder’s impressive performances at Euro 2016 have led Newcastle to raise their valuation, with some reports suggesting the Magpies have slapped a £35million price tag on their biggest asset.
Despite Sissoko putting himself in the shop window, the Daily Star claim Newcastle have received only one enquiry – from West Brom.
The Baggies’ interest was bought to an abrupt halt when they were informed of the asking price, with the West Midlands club reportedly willing to go only as high as £15million.
Despite his club’s steep valuation, Sissoko is unworried that he could be left to play in the Championship.
“Newcastle would ask for £35m. It could be £20m – it changes nothing,” said Sissoko
“The interested clubs will know how to find common ground and I hope it will be as early as possible.”
