Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle United are hoping to snatch Leeds United starlet Mallik Wilks, according to reports.

The 18-year-old striker has impressed during a loan spell at League Two Acrington Stanley this season after scoring twice on his debut.

Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk, who handed Wilks his debut for Leeds last season, is also reported to have registered an interest in the player.

However, Wilks is highly-rated at Leeds and signed a new four-year contract before making the temporary switch to Accrington, so he is unlikely to be easy to prise from their ranks.
