Thiago Maia: In line to join PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly emerged as strong favourites ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United to sign Santos star Thiago Maia.

According to Brazilian outlet Bradesco Esportes, PSG are willing to stump up €20million Euros in January for the highly-rated 19-year-old who they have identified as Thiago Motta’s long-term successor in midfield.

Maia already seems very familiar with the PSG squad and the French capital appears to be his most likely destination instead of a move to England.

“I know many people there,” Maia told Brazilian media.

“Marquinhos is one of them and he always has nice words for the club and its organization, I’d be happy to move to PSG one day.”
