Lucas Moura: Wanted by Liverpool

Lucas Moura’s agent claims the Paris Saint-Germain star turned down a more lucrative offer from Manchester United in favour of living in the French capital.

Sir Alex Ferguson was keen to bring Moura to Old Trafford in 2012 but PSG won the battle for his signature, with the Brazilian joining the Ligue 1 side from Sao Paulo for a fee of around 45million euros.

While discussing the possibility of Neymar moving to PSG, Moura’s agent revealed the then-20-year-old turned down a better contract at United in favour of living in Paris.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Wagner Ribeiro said: “He’s [Neymar] already played at Parc des Princes, Stade de France too.

“He loves Paris, it’s a beautiful city.

“And he knows a good guide, in Lucas. At the time, Lucas had a superior proposal from Manchester United. PSG was less strong, but the city made the difference.”
