Christian Pulisic: Rising Dortmund star

Liverpool target Christian Pulisic has ended speculation over a move to Anfield by penning a three-and-a-half-year deal with Borussia Dortmund.

The US international has broken through into the Dortmund first team this season and made 19 appearances in all competitions and scoring twice.

He has come to the attention of Jurgen Klopp and the Reds are believed to have been monitoring the 18-year-old’s progress, but the teenager has now committed himself to the Bundesliga club.

Pulisic ha signed a new deal that will keep him at Dortmund until 2020.

“I still have a lot to learn,” Pulisic said in a statement. “Here at Dortmund are the best conditions for me.

“Here I have the chance to play in front of 80,000 fans. We have the best fans in the world, it could not be better.”

The German club have always stated they were keen to keep hold of Pulisic.

Last month sporting director Michael Zorc told Klopp “it’s not worth the effort” and later in December, in an almost identical statement, he warned the Anfield club off the USA midfielder.

“We have communicated very clearly that we won’t sell Christian and that he’s very much part of our plans,” Zorc told Bild.

“Liverpool don’t need to waste their time.”
