Pundit expects up to five stars to be shown door at Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge: Late transfer scramble

Liverpool will be “very positive” in the summer transfer market with money to spend on five or six high-profile players, according to one pundit.

TalkSPORT’s Micky Quinn, a lifelong Liverpool fan, who is well connected at Anfield believes Jurgen Klopp will go all out in the summer transfer window to turn Liverpool into serious title contenders.

Quinn, 54, told Alan Brazil’s breakfast show that Daniel Sturridge and Simon Mignolet are among five high-profile stars likely to leave, while Man City keeper Joe Hart is under serious consideration to replace Mignolet.

“What I know is that Sturridge could be on his way,” Quinn told talkSPORT.

“Mignolet could be on his way. In could be coming Joe Hart and like I said there’s a lot of money to go on five to six high profile players. Read into that what you want.

“They’re going to be very positive in the summer. Klopp knows what he needs as well.

“That squad this season is not strong enough to win the league. Hopefully it’s strong enough to be in the top four.”

Hart is currently on loan at Torino, but reportedly held talks with Chelsea over a return to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Calciomercato claim that Hart met Chelsea officials on transfer deadline day to discuss a permanent move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The on-loan stopper was surprised to see a cameraman filming him arriving at a Milan hotel to meet Chelsea executives and reacted angrily.

After Hart climbed out of the Range Rover he was travelling in he questioned the cameraman: “What you doing pal?”
