Michael Owen claimed that Marcus Rashford’s tumble in the penalty area against Swansea “ended up a dive”.
Rashford won a 45th minute penalty, which Wayne Rooney converted, after he went tumbling under a challenge from Lukasz Fabianksi.
Former referee said Rashford should have been booked for diving, while former United striker Owen admitted that Rashford’s fall looked theatrical.
“The keeper has made a bad decision. Rashford then thinks he has got to find the contact. His knees buckle, he then realises that Fabianski has pulled his hands away, so he then goes searching (for the contact),” Owen told BT Sport.
Asked is it was a dive, Owen said: “Yes it ends up a dive. You are waiting for the contact. It was sort of protecting himself.”
"It's a dive and therefore a yellow card!"
