Zidane content with win at Bayern; Navas reacts to his howler

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was “happy” to see his side beat Bayern Munich 2-1 despite not playing their best game.

The Germans took the lead through Joshua Kimmich before strikes from Marcelo and Marco Asensio gave Real a vital lead.

“We can play better, yes, but we can be happy with the game,” Zidane said after the match.

“Isco had a shoulder problem, he did not feel comfortable from the start, so we changed him at the break. We hope it is not too serious.”

When asked what he told Asensio before he went on, Zidane replied: “Asensio knows what he has to do, with the ball. I don’t tell him much about that, just a few things defensively.”

Keylor Navas should have probably done better for Bayern’s goal as he moved to his right before Kimmich slammed the ball to his left.

“I am relaxed,” Navas said. “There are moments when things do not go as you want, but you must have the character to keep going, as there was a long time left. In the second half I could help my teammates to win the game.”
