Alberto Moreno’s agent has confirmed Real Madrid have expressed an interest in the Liverpool full-back and says it’d be “a joy” if they made an offer.
The Spanish star struggled to make an impact at the club under Brendan Rodgers last season, but has emerged as the Reds’ first-choice left-back under Jurgen Klopp.
His improved performances at Anfield have led to reports that the former Sevilla defender is wanted by Real Madrid as cover and competition for Marcelo at the Bernabeu, and the player’s agent Javier Moya claims they are considering a move.
“It’s logical that they ask about such an important player,” Moya told Radio 4G. “They are asking about him. Important teams from Spain and other places are asking.
“If a team like Real Madrid speak with us and Liverpool are satisfied with the operation, they could talk. If a team with the substance of Real Madrid makes an offer, it would be a joy for him.
“It’s difficult. Everyone knows the importance of Real Madrid but Liverpool have five European Cups. You have to give the first step to Liverpool.”
Despite the attraction of a return to La Liga, Moya insists Moreno is once again enjoying life at Anfield after returning to the fold.
“He loves it,” he said. “He’s getting to know another culture and playing in one of the most important leagues. And, above all, he’s in the first team.”
