Real Madrid have reportedly switched their main goalkeeping target from one Premier League star to another.

According to Talksport, the LaLiga giants have ended their pursuit of David De Gea, and are instead targeting Thibaut Courtois this summer.

Real are long-time admirers of De Gea, who himself as hinted at a possible move to the Bernabeu, however Los Blancos reportedly believe it will be too hard to prise him away from Old Trafford.

Catalan-based paper Sport recently reported that the Red Devils had set a €130m price tag for De Gea which warned off Real.

Florentino Perez is desperate to secure an upgrade on Keylor Navas and has apparently chosen Courtois, who has yet to agree terms on a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

Reports earlier this month suggested that they have asked Chelsea about a possible swap deal involving Courtois and defender Raphael Varane.

Real had allegedly lined up a deal for Kepa Arrizabalaga this month, only for the player to have a change of heart and sign a new contract with Athletic Bilbao.

The goalkeeper’s decision to stay in the Basque Country could be credited with strong suggestions that Arrizabalaga was not fancied by Zinedine Zidane, though this was denied by the Real Madrid boss.
