Real Madrid starlet Oscar Rodriguez has snubbed a move to Manchester City to sign a contract extension with the La Liga giants.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Real’s most promising academy players but City, along with Barcelona, were hoping to land the midfielder, according to Marca.

However, Rodriguez, who starred in the UEFA Youth League last season, has opted to pen a four-year contract with the Champions League winners.

The midfielder will play in Real Madrid’s ‘Castilla’ next season as Zinedine Zidane’s men continue their recent policy of trying to being through younger players at The Bernabeu, following the success of players such as Marco Asensio, Alvaro Morata and Lucas Vazquez breaking into the first team.
