Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic has agreed a five-year contract with Liverpool ahead of a £5million move, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with the Reds and earlier this month Grujic admitted he had held talks with Liverpool over a move to Anfield.
Liverpool have been scouting the Serbia Under-21 star for months with Klopp’s assistant manager Zeljko Buvac believed to have recommended Grujic to the German boss.
The Echo have now reported that Grujic is expected to fly to Merseyside this week to undergo a medical after chief executive Ian Ayre flew out to Belgrade last week to wrap up the deal.
The Reds will pay £5million for the playerm but will receive £730,000 back as a loan fee after agreeing to let him remain in his homeland until the end of the season.
Red Star have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause for the 6ft 3in Grujic, who signed a three-year contract at Red Star over the summer.
